Cabin Design Engineer – Heavy Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Cabin Design Engineer to join our engineering team in India. The role focuses on designing and developing operator cabins for heavy equipment, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop operator cabins and structural components for heavy equipment and industrial vehicles.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using Creo.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering documentation, and manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, testing, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct design reviews and implement engineering changes based on customer requirements.
• Support prototype development, validation activities, and product testing.
• Troubleshoot design‑related issues and propose engineering solutions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design, cost efficiency, and manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• 2–8 years of experience in cabin design, vehicle structures, or heavy equipment engineering.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, procurement, testing, and quality departments.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Creo (Part Modeling, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Drafting).
• Knowledge of GD&T, welding, sheet‑metal fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Familiarity with PLM tools such as Windchill (preferred).
