Buyer – Technical Procurement (2-6 yrs experience)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to manage the technical procurement of items for our plant operations. The role involves verifying specifications, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring seamless ordering through SAP.

Key responsibilities

• Float enquiries for assigned items based on user requirements.
• Validate technical requirements against vendor specifications and flag any gaps.
• Conduct the first round of vendor negotiations and provide detailed recommendations to the Buying Manager.
• Place orders for approved items and record transactions accurately in the SAP system.
• Address internal and external audit queries related to procurement, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.E. degree.
• 2‑6 years of experience in category‑based sourcing, manufacturing, or supply management within a plant environment.
• Proven exposure to category purchasing and vendor management.

Required skills

• Strong analytical mindset.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Knowledge of equipment, process, and maintenance activities.
• Commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in SAP for procurement transactions.
