Buyer – CHO Projects Procurement

About the role

The Buyer for CHO Projects & Procurement & Contracts will manage the sourcing of items required for plant operations. You will act as the first point of contact with vendors, verify technical specifications and ensure that purchases align with internal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Float enquiries for assigned items based on user requirements.
• Validate that vendor technical specifications match user‑defined requirements and flag any gaps to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager.
• Conduct the first round of price and term negotiations with vendors and relay outcomes to the Buying Manager for final approval.
• Create purchase orders for approved items and record transactions accurately in the SAP system.
• Respond promptly to internal and external audit queries related to procurement and escalate complex issues as needed.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.E. degree.
• 2‑6 years of experience in category‑based sourcing, purchasing or supply management within a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Proven exposure to equipment, process and maintenance procurement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP for purchase order processing.
• Strong analytical mindset.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Commercial acumen and understanding of procurement negotiations.
