Buyer – Central Sourcing, Global Tail Sourcing

About the role

As a member of Amazon's Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team, you will lead proactive initiatives to analyse unmanaged spend, expand catalog coverage and identify automation opportunities across APAC, NA and EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse unmanaged and free‑text spend data to uncover high‑value catalog expansion opportunities and build business cases.
• Identify, propose and implement AI‑powered automation solutions (e.g., automated RFQ generation, intelligent vendor matching, autonomous quote reading) to streamline sourcing workflows.
• Collaborate with Category Management teams to align sourcing strategies, leverage preferred‑supplier frameworks and redirect free‑text spend into compliant channels.
• Execute end‑to‑end competitive sourcing events, manage multi‑supplier negotiations and award contracts based on total cost of ownership.
• Develop and present spend insights, automation proposals and process‑improvement recommendations to leadership using data‑visualisation tools.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s Global Spending and Transaction Policy (GSTP) and serve as a reference point for junior team members.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across business requesters, procurement operations and external suppliers.
• Track and drive key performance metrics such as catalog coverage, spend under management, automation adoption and savings.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in spend analysis and sourcing.
• Ability to build business cases and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Familiarity with procurement policies and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to senior leadership.
