Business Finance Analyst – Mumbai

About the role

The Business Finance Analyst will join the Accounting Control function of the Business Finance organization, supporting the CIB Finance team for Emerging Markets Debt Business. You will ensure the accuracy of balance‑sheet and P&L data, drive month‑end close activities, and provide transparent financial reporting for the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on balance‑sheet and P&L for credit, interest‑rate and structured products.
• Execute month‑end close tasks: SAP journal entries, reconciliations, balance‑sheet substantiation and reporting.
• Perform QA checks on team processes and assess effectiveness of controls.
• Escalate and resolve product‑reconciliation exceptions and break items.
• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), prepare remediation plans and ensure SLA compliance.
• Facilitate Change‑the‑Bank (CTB) initiatives and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Maintain and review Key Operating Procedures (KOPs) for relevance and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of product‑control experience in investment banking or a related financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of credit derivatives, interest‑rate products and exotic credit instruments.
• Adaptable, culturally aware and able to work in a global setting.
• Proactive teamwork attitude and quick learning capability.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
