Business Development Executive

About the role

Booktara, an early‑stage SaaS startup, is looking for a Business Development Executive to own its revenue engine. You will work directly with the founder to shape positioning, pricing, and product improvements while converting both inbound and outbound leads into paying customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the revenue target across SMB and enterprise segments, from pipeline generation to closed deals.
• Build and manage prospect lists, conduct cold outreach, deliver demos, and close outbound opportunities.
• Qualify and convert marketing‑generated and organic inbound leads.
• Gather customer feedback and relay objections and feature requests to the founder and development team.
• Create sales collateral and messaging in collaboration with the shared marketing team.
• Report weekly on pipeline health, conversion rates, and revenue performance.

Required profile

• Prior SaaS sales or business development experience (must understand recurring‑revenue models, trials, churn, and buyer decision processes).
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Comfortable with both outbound hunting and inbound closing.
• Willing to work night/US‑aligned shifts as the role expands to the US market.
• Hands‑on operator who executes directly rather than delegating.
• Clear written and spoken English.
