AVP Service Engineer – Core Banking (Support & DevOps)

About the role

Barclays is looking for an AVP Service Engineer to support and evolve its core banking platforms in Bengaluru. You will ensure the resilience, performance and integrity of critical banking applications while driving automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for core banking applications, monitor system health and meet SLA targets.
• Lead end‑to‑end CI/CD automation using GitLab, Jenkins and Nexus.
• Design, maintain and troubleshoot containerised workloads on Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, including Helm charts.
• Manage change, release and environment processes in line with Barclays governance.
• Conduct incident triage, root‑cause analysis and problem management to improve system resilience.
• Collaborate with business users, development and infrastructure teams to prioritise enhancements and support the application backlog.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of ITIL practices (incident, problem, change management).
• Experience working in a regulated financial services environment.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a high‑pressure production support setting.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
