Associate Professor – IT

About the role

The Associate Professor – IT will join a higher‑education institution to deliver high‑quality teaching, conduct research, and contribute to academic service in the fields of Computer Applications and Information Technology. The role involves curriculum leadership, mentorship of faculty and students, and active participation in institutional development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and related areas.
• Design, update and deliver course content, assessments and evaluations using modern e‑learning tools, case‑based and experiential teaching methods.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with institutional goals and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
• Apply for external research grants, manage funded projects and support accreditation processes (NBA, NAAC, ABET).
• Participate in curriculum development, academic planning and departmental committees.
• Guide junior faculty, assist in peer reviews and contribute to faculty development initiatives.
• Engage with industry partners for project‑based learning, internships and collaborative programs.
• Represent the department at national and international academic and industry forums.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Applications, IT, Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Master’s degree (MCA/M.Sc. IT/MTech) with first‑class honors.
• Minimum 8 years of combined teaching, research and industry experience, including at least 3 years as an Assistant Professor.
• Strong research record with publications in Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals.
• Familiarity with AICTE/UGC norms and NBA/NAAC accreditation processes.
