Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, menu planning, and sanitation standards at a busy venue in Pune. The role involves direct interaction with guests, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with service and safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising shift operations and manage restaurant areas in the absence of the Director or Restaurant Manager.
• Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address questions or concerns.
• Ensure all staff have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Maintain compliance with alcohol service laws and restaurant policies.
• Help achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals.
• Open and close restaurant shifts and perform duties of other restaurant staff as needed.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, resolve complaints, and promote exceptional service.
• Supervise training initiatives, coach employees, and enforce performance expectations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food and beverage or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience.
