Assistant Professor of Accounting

About the role

The School of Commerce and Management Studies at Dayananda Sagar University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Accounting. The role combines teaching, research, student mentoring, industry engagement, curriculum development and institutional service to support the university’s outcome‑based education vision and accreditation goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Accounting, including Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, Auditing, Direct and Indirect Taxation, Financial Reporting, IFRS, Accounting Information Systems and Financial Statement Analysis.
• Prepare course files, lesson plans, teaching schedules and assessment plans aligned with OBE requirements; design innovative pedagogical practices such as case studies, simulations, flipped classrooms and digital tools.
• Develop assessment rubrics, map Course Outcomes to Program Outcomes and monitor attainment for continuous quality improvement.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in Scopus, Web of Science, UGC‑CARE and other reputable journals, and present papers at national and international conferences.
• Apply for funded research projects, consultancy assignments and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Mentor assigned students, guide projects, internships, dissertations and support preparation for professional certifications (CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA, CFA).
• Build collaborations with industry, professional bodies and accounting firms to facilitate internships, live projects, guest lectures and placement activities.

Required profile

• Experience delivering undergraduate and postgraduate accounting courses.
• Familiarity with outcome‑based education, program outcomes and accreditation requirements.
