Assistant Manager – Retail Sales

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Retail Sales will support business growth across India by executing market‑specific strategies, coordinating with sales, operations and commercial teams, and driving promotional activities that boost brand visibility and product off‑take.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse market territories using primary data to plan listings, activations and growth initiatives.
• Implement strategies aimed at expanding retail sales with small‑ and medium‑sized traders and retailers.
• Set and monitor sales targets in collaboration with the sales team.
• Coordinate daily service delivery with Operations and Commercial teams.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly activity reports.
• Lead sales promotional campaigns to increase awareness and accelerate product turnover.
• Penetrate new customer segments to boost retail sales volume.
• Analyse competitor actions, detect market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

Required profile

• Graduate or MBA with a solid understanding of retail sales.
• 3‑5 years of proven experience in retail sales.
• Excellent communication and listening skills to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the capability to work independently.
• Strong drive for continuous improvement of services, products and processes.
• Influential across organisational boundaries to impact results.
