Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Manufacturing Engineer to lead process planning and digitalisation for our wheel speed sensor and brake system production lines at Bosch’s Chakan plant in Kurli, India. The role combines manufacturing engineering, IT system management and continuous improvement to ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and optimise manufacturing processes for wheel speed sensor body and sensor unit lines, including assembly, welding, inspection, labeling and weighing.
• Set up, develop and tune process parameters; work with quality teams for validation and support production/maintenance in troubleshooting.
• Manage manufacturing IT infrastructure – servers, VLANs, databases and applications – ensuring uptime, security and cost efficiency.
• Act as MES key user: maintain the MES application, commission new lines, manage users, servers and data security, and roll out new modules and digital tools such as PowerBI.
• Oversee resistance welding operations, conduct CQI‑15 assessments and drive process improvements.
• Prepare and release production documentation (work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, measurement and test plans, PDS).
• Collaborate with the International Production Network (IPN) on standardisation, quality issues and product launches.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning of new machines, plan try‑outs, validations and release for production.
• Lead Kaizen projects to reduce cycle time, improve quality and enhance shop‑floor efficiency.
• Support new product development from technical requirement gathering to SOP implementation.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Experience in manufacturing process planning and production engineering, preferably in automotive or brake systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing IT systems and MES environments.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with quality, production, maintenance and global teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
