Asia Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

Johnson Matthey is seeking an experienced Controller to lead finance operations across its Asia Clean Air and corporate locations. You will ensure accurate reporting, robust controls, and compliance while supporting the company’s mission to deliver sustainable metal solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy and controls for monthly P&L and balance‑sheet accounts across all Asia sites.
• Lead the bi‑annual Filings Assurance review and manage the external audit process.
• Oversee Controllership teams at Clean Air manufacturing sites, allocating finance resources for optimal ROI and risk management.
• Drive simplification initiatives, strengthen governance, and influence ways of working.
• Collaborate with regional controllers on succession planning, talent development, and mobility.
• Identify and mitigate business and financial risks, ensuring compliance with group policies and accounting standards.
• Partner with the Regional Clean Air Finance Director and Group Functional Cost Lead to provide insight, challenge, and financial guidance.
• Work closely with local Commercial, Operations, and FP&A teams to deliver clear, user‑friendly financial information.

Required profile

• Proven ability to anticipate risks, complex issues, and opportunities and integrate them into finance strategy.
• Experience building and maintaining a strong control environment, policies, and procedures.
• Track record of leading and developing Controllership teams.
• Strong partnership skills with commercial and operational functions.
• Deep understanding of finance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
