Area Sales Head – SME (EM) – Chandigarh

About the role

The Area Sales Head – SME (EM) will lead the mortgage business for the Chandigarh branch, setting and achieving branch‑level objectives that align with the broader goals of Aditya Birla Finance Limited. The role carries full P&L responsibility and requires strategic planning across product and channel mix.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive business objectives for the branch, covering book size, profitability, MIS, and portfolio management.
• Own the branch P&L, monitoring contribution, net interest income, marketing spend, fees, and risk‑return metrics.
• Develop area‑wise strategies for product mix (LAP, LRD, HL) and distribution channels.
• Oversee end‑to‑end sales operations, ensuring superior product delivery and enhancing financial knowledge of Relationship Managers (RMs) and Senior RMs.
• Monitor credit quality of new acquisitions through rigorous due‑diligence and post‑sanction surveillance.
• Recruit, develop, motivate and retain RMs/SRMs, supporting complex case conversions and distributor negotiations.
• Act as escalation point for early warning signals of potential NPAs or fraudulent activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading sales teams in mortgage or related financial services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full P&L and drive profitability.
• Strong understanding of mortgage products such as Home Loans, Loan‑against‑Property, Lease Rental Discounting, Commercial Purchase and Construction Finance.
• Experience in credit risk assessment and post‑sanction monitoring.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with customers and distribution partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mortgage lending products and processes.
• Ability to conduct credit due‑diligence and risk analysis.
• Proficiency in portfolio management and MIS reporting.
