Area Manager – Insurance Sales (Ahmedabad)

About the role

The Area Manager will be responsible for generating new insurance business in the Ahmedabad region by working through assigned relationship and channel partners, primarily banks operating under an open‑architecture model. The role involves both pre‑sales and post‑sales support to ensure customers receive the right Birla Sunlife Insurance solutions and that business targets are consistently met and grown each quarter.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and nurture relationships with bank partners and their customers, providing a full range of insurance and banking products.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned area, driving top‑line growth and achieving defined product‑mix targets (Traditional 50 %, ULIP 40 %, Term 10 %).
• Achieve persistency and renewal targets by communicating with customers, resolving queries, and ensuring timely policy renewals.
• Coordinate sales processes, including sales calls, policy issuance, and complaint handling, while communicating any procedural changes through training modules.
• Provide market feedback, suggest new product ideas, and develop sales pitches based on partner needs.
• Monitor activation rates and maintain a minimum of 40 % activation with specified case volumes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance sales or financial services, preferably with bank channel partners.
• Strong knowledge of insurance and banking products.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and meet quarterly business targets.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
