Apprenticeship for ITI Trades (Diesel Mechanic, Electrician, Plumber)

About the role

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) is offering a one‑year apprenticeship program for ITI certificate holders in selected trades. Candidates will receive on‑the‑job training at the shipyard in Malpe, Karnataka, under the Apprentices Act 1961.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in daily operations related to diesel engines, bench fitting, instrument mechanics, electrical systems, and plumbing.
• Participate in hands‑on training sessions and practical projects to develop trade‑specific competencies.
• Maintain safety standards and follow shipyard procedures while performing tasks.
• Document work performed and report progress to supervisors.

Required profile

• Holds a valid ITI (National Trade Certificate) in Diesel Mechanics/Bench Fitter/Instrument Mechanic, Electrician, or Plumber.
• Minimum age of 18 years as of 18‑05‑2026.
• Resident of Karnataka.
• Has not completed any apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act 1961 previously.
