AI Engineer

About the role

Synechron is looking for an AI Engineer in Bengaluru to lead the design and delivery of solutions using artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. The role turns business needs into practical technology solutions, guides engineering teams and supports innovation through secure, scalable and maintainable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of AI and emerging-technology projects.
• Assess new technologies and recommend solutions that improve business processes.
• Develop scalable, secure and maintainable AI applications and define technical approaches, architecture, delivery plans and quality standards.
• Mentor team members through code reviews, technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations and other stakeholders, and track project risks, dependencies, quality and delivery progress.
• Ensure solutions meet business objectives, security requirements and responsible AI practices.
• Document architecture, implementation decisions, test results and operating procedures, and make technical recommendations within agreed standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software development, AI engineering or technology delivery.
• Experience leading or contributing to AI projects, designing software architectures and mentoring team members.
• Experience communicating technical recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: experience in financial services, technology, healthcare or other regulated industries.

Required skills

• Python and strong software development practices; SQL and experience with structured and unstructured data.
• An AI/ML framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or Scikit-learn.
• Git, Agile delivery, CI/CD, automated testing and secure coding.
• Preferred: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud deployment, vector databases, MLOps platforms and generative AI.
