AI Application Engineer

About the role

The AI Application Engineer will design, develop, and deliver enterprise‑grade AI‑powered applications, agents, and copilots across SAP and other business platforms. You will work closely with product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to turn AI use cases into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI‑driven applications, agents, and copilots for SAP and enterprise environments.
• Design and implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, vector search, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and micro‑services using modern development practices.
• Integrate AI solutions with SAP systems, ERP data sources, and other business applications.
• Ensure security, scalability, observability, performance, and production readiness of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver end‑to‑end AI use cases while applying responsible AI governance.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or Java.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama).
• Experience in Agentic AI, RAG, prompt engineering, and function calling.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
• Knowledge of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma, Weaviate, Qdrant, SAP HANA Cloud).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Experience with REST APIs, micro‑services, enterprise integrations, and preferably SAP BTP Integration Suite.
• Understanding of responsible AI, AI governance, and AI security/compliance.
