Java Software Engineer

About the role

Caterpillar is looking for a Java Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain high‑quality backend solutions using modern Java technologies in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy scalable backend applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Participate in requirements analysis, technical design and architecture discussions.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Perform unit, integration and automated testing following TDD/BDD practices.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards.
• Work with DevOps to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build, release and deployment processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate within distributed agile scrum teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 4–6+ years of professional Java development experience.
• On‑site work five days a week; relocation assistance available.
