Team Lead – Global Legal Services

About the role

We are looking for an experienced lawyer to lead and scale our Global Legal Services (GLS) team in Bangalore. The role combines deep commercial contracting expertise with people leadership and legal operations experience, acting as a trusted partner to global business and legal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Operational Management – oversee day‑to‑day running of the GLS team, set up processes, liaise with Legal Operations, establish KPIs and ensure SLA adherence for NDAs and lower‑complexity contracts.
• Team Development and Engagement – manage training, onboarding, motivation, and backup planning to maintain uninterrupted service.
• Quality Assurance – monitor intake volume, cycle times, backlog, customer satisfaction and business value, and work with the Steering Committee on quality insights.
• Reporting and Governance – produce regular KPI‑based reports for leadership and track work quality and challenges.
• Escalation Management – address escalated queries and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• LL.B. degree and admission to practice in India.
• 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience, including substantial time in a multinational in‑house legal team or leading law firm with a focus on commercial contracts.
• Proven experience managing a Legal Center of Excellence or leading a legal function in a shared‑services environment, with people‑leadership responsibilities.
• Advanced proficiency in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (NDAs, sales, procurement, SaaS, etc.).
• Strong stakeholder management, communication skills and ability to support senior executives across global time zones.
• High business acumen, sound judgment and ability to balance risk with commercial outcomes.
• Excellent written and spoken English, capable of producing clear, concise, business‑oriented advice.
