Taxation Manager (GST Litigation & Advocacy)

About the role

The Taxation Manager will lead GST litigation and advocacy activities, ensuring timely compliance and effective representation before tax authorities. This role requires deep legal knowledge of the GST Act, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to guide business units through complex tax issues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage GST litigation, prepare briefs, draft replies to statutory notices, appeals, and authority letters.
• Ensure all GST litigation deadlines are met and appear for personal hearings as required.
• Periodically review pending litigations and coordinate actions with senior leadership.
• Stay updated on changes to the GST Act, rules, case law, and related notifications.
• Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines reflecting legislative updates.
• Prepare analytical notes, representations to government, and training sessions on legal changes.
• Maintain MIS and trackers for all pending litigations and present updates to relevant committees.

Required profile

• Sharp legal acumen with strong analytical and interpretational abilities.
• Excellent drafting and representation skills.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of legal provisions, case laws, and GST regulations.
• Qualification: CA or LLB (up to a maximum of three attempts), preferably from the 2019‑2020 batch.
