Legal Officer

About the role

The Legal Officer will join Independent Legal Practice in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, providing end‑to‑end legal services to both internal teams and external clients. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering practical, outcome‑oriented legal advice across commercial and general law matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on relevant statutes and regulations.
• Advise internal stakeholders and clients on legal risks, compliance requirements, and business implications.
• Assist in negotiations and coordinate with external counsel or regulatory bodies as needed.
• Maintain organized case files, ensure timely follow‑up on legal matters, and monitor legislative changes.
• Contribute to the improvement of internal legal processes and documentation standards.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; bar membership or eligibility to practice law in India preferred.
• Prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, especially in contract and business law, is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and interpretative abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and collaborative mindset.
