Structural Engineer – Water

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and review structural elements for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role involves working on retaining structures, reservoirs, pump stations, pipeline structures and related industrial buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review structural components for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including reservoirs and pump stations.
• Prepare structural calculation reports and perform design calculations using Excel and in‑house software.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure quality control of design calculations and drawings.
• Apply international codes such as Eurocodes and American codes throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience as a structural design engineer, preferably on water or wastewater projects.
• Familiarity with international design codes (Eurocodes, American codes) and safety‑in‑design practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed, diverse team.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is advantageous.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design for concrete and steel structures.
• Proficiency with Excel for design calculations.
• Experience using Autodesk Robot, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE and SAP 2000.
