Staff Technical Solutions Engineer (Platform)

About the role

Databricks is looking for a senior Frontline Staff Technical Solutions Engineer to join its Platform Support team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on delivering expert support for the Databricks Data Intelligence platform, handling complex technical challenges, and ensuring platform stability for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Frontline Support: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for escalated platform issues, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution.
• Customer Interaction: Engage directly with customers to understand technical problems and deliver clear, actionable solutions.
• Incident Management: Lead high‑priority incident resolution, coordinate cross‑team response, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to share insights, identify recurring issues, and drive platform improvements.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge‑base articles, and training materials.
• Performance Monitoring & Platform Upgrades: Monitor platform metrics, implement optimisations, and oversee upgrades and patches with minimal disruption.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of hands‑on technical support or engineering experience on Databricks Data Intelligence, cloud data platforms, or big‑data technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Databricks architecture and Apache Spark™.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Unix/Linux administration, DevOps practices, log analysis and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with big‑data tools like Hadoop, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, data pipelines and distributed computing.
