Staff Digital Design Engineer - MCU & Embedded Platforms

About the role

NXP is looking for a Staff Digital Design Engineer in Pune to develop next-generation MCU and embedded processing platforms, combining traditional digital design with AI/ML-driven design automation. The engineer contributes to RTL design, microarchitecture, IP integration and design optimisation, improving quality, productivity, power, performance and area.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop digital modules for MCU and embedded processor subsystems
• Define microarchitecture specifications based on product requirements
• Develop synthesizable RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Perform IP integration and subsystem assembly
• Work with architecture, verification, DFT, firmware and validation teams
• Support FPGA prototyping, emulation and silicon bring-up
• Analyse timing, power, area and performance trade-offs

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Science Engineering
• 8+ years of experience with strong digital design fundamentals
• Practical understanding of machine learning concepts

Required skills

• RTL design in Verilog/SystemVerilog
• MCU/MPU architecture and AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB)
• Clock-domain crossing, reset architectures and low-power design
• Synthesis and static timing analysis
• FPGA prototyping and emulation
• Linux development environment
• Scripting in Python, Perl or Tcl
