Software Engineer II – Storage

About the role

Join DigitalOcean’s Storage team in Bengaluru to design, develop, and operate scalable object storage services for a fast‑growing cloud platform. You will work on distributed systems that power block volumes, backups, and image management, ensuring high performance and reliability for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a motivated team to deliver innovative storage solutions.
• Support the creation and operation of distributed systems at cloud scale.
• Write production‑grade code primarily in Go, and contribute to other languages as needed.
• Engage with open‑source communities, consuming and contributing code.
• Solve complex performance and reliability challenges in a technically rewarding environment.

Required profile

• Experience with object or other distributed storage systems and scaling them.
• Familiarity with storage platforms such as MinIO, Ceph, AWS S3, or similar.
• Ability to work in an agile, self‑motivated team and take ownership of product availability.
• Comfort with concurrency and parallelism models in modern programming languages.

Required skills

• Go programming language.
• Object storage protocols (e.g., S3).
• Distributed storage solutions: MinIO, Ceph, AWS S3, Scality.
• gRPC.
• Observability and performance tuning tools.
