Software Engineer II – Android

About the role

We are building AstroChat, a daily companion that blends astrology, AI and data to give users trusted guidance. As a product‑focused Software Engineer II – Android you will help create and scale a high‑quality mobile experience for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Own Android development for onboarding, chat, calls, engagement, retention and monetization.
• Build scalable, high‑performance features using Kotlin.
• Partner with Product, Design, Backend and Growth teams to ship intuitive experiences.
• Improve architecture, code quality, reliability and release processes.
• Mentor engineers and raise Android best‑practice standards.
• Leverage AI tools for coding, debugging, testing and productivity.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on Android development experience.
• Strong background building apps for product‑focused companies.
• Mandatory expertise in Kotlin.
• Solid understanding of Android fundamentals, architecture, lifecycle, APIs, performance and release management.
• Strong product sense and ability to turn requirements into polished experiences.
• Comfortable in fast‑paced, high‑ownership environments.
• Basic cross‑platform exposure; Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) is a plus.
• Builder mindset with strong execution and problem‑solving skills.
