Software Engineer – C/C++ Communication Gateway

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop a communication gateway that bridges ZeroMQ, NanoMSG or NNG based applications with a Sparkplug B MQTT infrastructure. The solution will enable reliable, scalable messaging for Industrial IoT deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a gateway that translates and routes messages between ZeroMQ/NanoMSG/NNG and Sparkplug B MQTT.
• Develop, test, debug and optimise communication software on Ubuntu/Linux platforms.
• Ensure high reliability, scalability and performance of the messaging system.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate the gateway into broader IIoT solutions.
• Maintain documentation and support deployment activities.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of professional software development experience, primarily in C/C++.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Ubuntu/Linux development.
• Good understanding of MQTT and Sparkplug B protocols.
• Experience with ZeroMQ, NanoMSG or NNG messaging libraries.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts, socket programming and multithreading.
• Familiarity with Modbus TCP/RTU and industrial protocol converters is a plus.
• Prior work on communication middleware or gateway projects for IIoT is highly desirable.
