Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) – Contract

About the role

AEE is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) to join its expansion technology team. This contract position focuses on building and scaling platforms that enable new stores to launch with local language, currency, and payment options worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement innovative technology solutions that reduce time‑to‑market and standardize execution across global expansions.
• Develop, operate, and evolve large‑scale platforms handling information extraction, distributed systems, web applications, data mining, scalability, security, and algorithms.
• Stabilize day‑to‑day operations, improve build and testing processes, and ensure compliance with software and security standards.
• Solve complex, ambiguous problems rapidly using data‑driven approaches and metric monitoring.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work on massive‑scale, layered‑complexity projects and thrive in ambiguous environments.
