Server Management Consultant (Linux & Cloud)

About the role

The Server Management Consultant will provide third‑level technical support for Linux‑based server environments, ensuring high availability and performance across physical and virtual infrastructures. The role involves working closely with customers to automate repetitive tasks, resolve complex incidents, and transfer knowledge to second‑level support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 3rd‑level support in line with customer SLAs and perform root‑cause analysis for incidents.
• Install, maintain, monitor, and decommission physical and virtual servers, including patch management via zypper.
• Configure DNS zones, SAMBA/AUTOFS/CIFS/FTP services, and manage LVM extensions and resizing.
• Troubleshoot SUSE Pacemaker clusters and resolve GRUB‑related boot issues.
• Assist L2 teams during upgrade/patch activities and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Document services, test changes, and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in Linux server administration and management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel for project‑specific assignments.
• Ability to link business requirements to IT solutions and support SAP environments.
