Social Media Community Manager (Remote, Full-Time)

About the role

8ight is seeking a remote Community & Social Media Manager to build and nurture an active community around its camera‑first smart glasses. You will engage early supporters, answer product questions, gather feedback and help shape how users discover and understand the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow presence on Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook Groups and YouTube.
• Identify relevant communities, join conversations naturally and provide value.
• Respond to questions, comments and criticism professionally.
• Transform product updates and use cases into engaging community content.
• Maintain a social media and community calendar.
• Create discussions for creators, camera enthusiasts, travelers, athletes and tech adopters.
• Moderate owned communities, ensuring a positive environment.
• Spot ambassadors, creators, testers and highly engaged supporters.
• Support product announcements, AMAs, livestreams, crowdfunding and launch campaigns.
• Monitor sentiment, recurring questions and feedback; report weekly on growth and opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in community management, social media or digital marketing.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Experience managing at least two social or community platforms.
• Understanding of platform‑specific communication (Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, Instagram).
• Interest in consumer electronics, cameras, wearables or creator technology.
• Ability to explain technical information clearly without exaggeration.
• Good judgment when handling criticism, misinformation or sensitive questions.
• Highly organized, able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Proactive mindset with idea‑generation capability.
• Availability for full‑time work with overlap during GMT+8 business hours.
