Senior Tax Associate

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Tax Associate to join Consilio’s Global Tax Team. The role focuses on indirect taxes such as VAT and GST across APAC, EMEA, the UK and Canada, and combines tax expertise with technology‑driven processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file VAT/GST return packages for multiple jurisdictions.
• Research legislative updates and proactively adjust compliance procedures.
• Support tax audits, respond to authority queries and manage information requests.
• Maintain tax compliance calendars and ensure filing deadlines are met.
• Perform monthly and quarterly tax reconciliations and strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Legal and Business Operations to resolve tax‑related issues.
• Coordinate external consultants and vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency, data extraction and reporting.
• Work with ERP systems to analyse transaction‑level tax data and identify automation opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Taxation or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in indirect tax (VAT/GST) compliance, preferably across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA or CMA are advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP.
• Familiarity with tax engine platforms such as Avalara or Avatax.
