Senior Quality Engineer II - Automation Lead

About the role

SBS, a global fintech partner of 74Software, is hiring a Senior Software Quality Engineer (Automation Lead) in Noida, India, to drive automation testing for open banking applications. The role leads automation strategy, mentors team members and ensures high-quality software delivery in an Agile environment, with a hybrid setup.

Key responsibilities

• Lead automation testing for web services and API applications, with 75% automation and 25% manual testing.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks using Playwright; build mobile frameworks with Appium for Android and iOS.
• Own quality end to end for sprint deliveries, including integration testing, and for customer releases, patches and hotfixes.
• Define automation strategy, coding standards, framework architecture and quality metrics, and set up 360-degree test coverage with happy and negative flows.
• Develop and run functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration and end-to-end test suites, and automate REST API testing with Playwright, Rest Assured, Postman or similar.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Review automation code, mentor team members, analyze results and troubleshoot failures.
• Ensure compliance with banking security, regulatory and quality standards.

Required profile

• 8-10 years in software quality assurance and test automation, with 2-4 years in a lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience applying generative AI to accelerate testing and automation, and using AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, KIRO) for test cases, automation, code optimization and defect analysis.
• Strong knowledge of banking/financial services applications, secure transaction workflows and regulatory compliance; good to have experience with digital banking, payments, loans, cards and KYC/AML workflows.
