Senior Process Engineer – Pharma & GMP Manufacturing

About the role

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join its Global Excellence Centre. The role focuses on designing and delivering innovative process engineering solutions for pharmaceutical, semiconductor and other process industries, ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare plant equipment layouts, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing and P&IDs.
• Develop specifications and data sheets for process, utility and warehouse equipment.
• Design OSD (tablet, capsule) facilities and associated equipment such as granulators, FBD/FBP, compressors and coaters.
• Design secondary packaging lines, blister packing, bottle packing, track‑and‑trace and palletiser systems.
• Design small and large volume parenteral facilities, including ampoule/vial washers, dehydrogenation tunnels, filling machines, isolators, autoclaves and inspection equipment.
• Define instrumentation control philosophies and provide process input for instrument data sheets.
• Produce documentation, diagrams and specifications to meet project and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in project reviews, status tracking and reporting.
• Prepare and review qualification documents (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) and FAT/SAT protocols and reports.
• Ensure adherence to cGMP, Arcadis SOPs, SHE and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8‑14 years of experience as a process engineer in a design consultancy environment.
• Proven experience in pharmaceutical facility design, especially OSD and parenteral manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of equipment used in tablet, capsule, blister, bottle and secondary packaging lines.
• Familiarity with cGMP, SHE and sustainability requirements.
