Electrical Design Engineer – Industrial Applications

About the role

Assystem is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support industrial applications, focusing on power distribution and lighting design for critical infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate electrical and lighting loads, including normal and emergency scenarios.
• Design and layout switchgear rooms, size HT/LT transformers, and produce single line diagrams (SLD) and wiring diagrams.
• Develop bus duct, cable routing, and cable tray layouts, performing sizing calculations.
• Prepare illumination layouts and review vendor documentation.
• Inspect equipment delivery and erection, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Lead a team of design engineers and draftsmen to deliver designs within BOQ quantities and quoted man‑hours.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 5‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in cooling tower projects and cost‑conscious, schedule‑adherent delivery.
• Ability to work independently and manage a multidisciplinary design team.

Required skills

• Electrical load calculation (normal & emergency).
• Switchgear room layout and HT/LT transformer sizing.
• Single line diagram (SLD) and wiring diagram creation.
• Bus duct, cable routing, and cable tray design and sizing.
• Illumination layout preparation.
• Review of vendor documents and equipment inspection.
• Knowledge of C&I equipment and layout.
