Senior Mechanical Engineer – Projects

About the role

Tata Electronics Private Limited is building India’s first AI‑enabled semiconductor foundry. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the execution and supervision of mechanical works, including HVAC, piping, firefighting and utility systems, ensuring seamless integration with civil and electrical disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise mechanical installations (HVAC, piping, firefighting, utilities) as per approved GA drawings, P&IDs and project specifications.
• Coordinate closely with civil, electrical and other MEP services to achieve clash‑free execution.
• Identify and resolve interface issues across disciplines and manage site coordination meetings with vendors and contractors.
• Oversee first‑fix and second‑fix activities, including shared services rack installation.
• Monitor contractor performance, ensure quality, safety and productivity, and prepare progress reports (DPR/WPR).
• Handle installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems while complying with QA/QC, ISO standards and safety practices (LOTO, PTW).

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of experience in mechanical construction and execution projects.
• Strong background in MEP and civil coordination, especially firefighting packages.

Required skills

• HVAC, piping and firefighting system design and execution.
• Reading and interpreting GA drawings, P&IDs and layouts.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards.
• First‑fix/second‑fix and services rack installation.
• Experience with pipe materials: MS, SS, PPH, PVDF, HDPE, uPVC.
• Utilities expertise: AHU, MAU, RCU, chilled water, centrifugal chillers, compressed air, PCW, heat exchangers, cooling towers, UPW, WWTP.
• Vendor management (e.g., L&T and other EPC contractors).
