Senior Mechanical Engineer – MCAD Designer (Switchgear)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team as an MCAD Designer. You will focus on sustaining and VAVE activities for switchgear products, creating robust mechanical solutions and ensuring they meet cost, quality, and timeline objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design sheet‑metal components, switchgear enclosures, and bus‑bar systems using 3D/2D CAD tools.
• Create and review CAD drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
• Collaborate with suppliers, procurement, industrial engineering, and electrical engineers to select components and integrate solutions.
• Maintain and update product BOMs and master item BOMs in Oracle (ODIS) and PLM systems.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis to verify IP ratings and environmental compliance.
• Resolve technical issues, simplify assemblies, and reduce costs.
• Support prototype development, testing, and manufacturing with technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with ITC regulations, safety, and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the switchgear sector.
• Strong knowledge of light structural work processing and refrigeration principles.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage supplier relationships.
