Assistant Purchase Manager – Chemical Procurement

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Purchase Manager to lead the procurement of chemical raw materials and packaging for a leading adhesives and chemicals manufacturer. The role involves close collaboration with production, quality, and finance teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and cost‑effective sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement of chemical raw materials and packaging.
• Develop and qualify vendors, negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and guarantee timely material availability.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Finance departments.
• Prepare purchase orders, maintain documentation, and evaluate supplier performance.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or B.Sc. in Chemistry.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, preferably within chemicals, paints, adhesives, inks, hot‑melt or water‑based products.
• Proven track record of vendor development and cost negotiation.
