Senior Manager - ESG

About the role

The Senior Manager – ESG will lead the environmental and social risk assessment for credit proposals, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. This role combines strategic oversight of ESG due diligence with hands‑on coordination of action plans and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and social (E&S) risk assessments for new and existing credit proposals, reviewing sector‑specific risks, regulatory compliance, permits, and borrower practices.
• Identify key environmental, social, health and safety risks and recommend mitigation measures, covenants, and risk controls for decision‑making.
• Prepare and manage Environmental & Social Action Plans (ESAPs), coordinating with customers and internal teams to implement and close action items.
• Monitor borrower compliance with agreed E&S conditions through periodic reviews, site visits, document checks, and escalation of deviations.
• Guide customers on ESG requirements, support issue resolution, corrective actions, and promote sustainable practices.
• Prepare summary notes for risk/credit committees and maintain accurate due‑diligence records, monitoring reports, and management information systems.
• Track regulatory and global ESG developments and support the enhancement of internal frameworks, processes, and training initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in ESG risk assessment, due diligence, or sustainable finance.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and social regulations, permits, and sector‑specific ESG standards.
• Ability to develop and manage action plans, monitor compliance, and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills to support credit committees and senior management.
