Senior Forward Deployed Applied Scientist I (Agentic AI)

About the role

The Forward Deployed AI (FDE) team operates at the intersection of AI research, production deployment, and customer impact. As an Agentic AI Applied Scientist you will embed directly with high‑growth startups, tech innovators, and AI‑native enterprise partners to design, build, and deploy custom autonomous agent architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Architect production‑ready multi‑agent frameworks, autonomous reasoning loops, and tool‑augmented LLM pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with CTOs and AI engineering leads to translate ambiguous business requirements into deterministic AI workflows.
• Prototype cutting‑edge agentic systems using LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom execution graphs and harden them for enterprise‑scale deployment.
• Develop reusable evaluation frameworks and safety guardrails to monitor precision, security, latency, and cost.
• Provide strategic feedback to core AI/ML product teams, turning field friction into platform enhancements.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in applied AI, machine learning, or data science.
• Proven expertise building multi‑agent orchestration engines, tool‑use pipelines, dynamic planning, and persistent memory models.
• Strong production Python skills (Pydantic, FastAPI, Asyncio, PyTorch) and systems engineering mindset.
• High empathy and crisp technical communication for customer‑facing engineering engagements.
• Bias for action, ownership, and the “Shark” mentality described by DigitalOcean.
