Sales Engineer – East India (Power Distribution)

About the role

Ensto, an international technology company founded in 1958 that supplies electrical solutions for low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) electricity distribution networks, is looking for a Sales Engineer for its East India business. The role is based in Kolkata and is fully remote, with frequent travel across East India. It suits people who want hands-on exposure to utility, EPC and power distribution projects while building long-term customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales growth for LV and MV electricity distribution solutions across East India.
• Identify, develop and manage opportunities with utilities, DISCOMs, EPC contractors, consultants and industrial customers.
• Follow up on leads, customer requirements, quotations, tenders and project opportunities.
• Conduct customer visits, technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Support tender submissions, take part in commercial discussions and contribute to order execution.
• Coordinate with internal teams for timely customer support and project delivery.
• Maintain the sales pipeline, forecasts, customer records and visit reports in CRM and related systems.
• Track market trends, competitor activity and evolving customer needs.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1-4 years of experience in electrical equipment sales, power distribution, utilities, EPC or infrastructure.
• Basic understanding of LV/MV distribution products and their applications.
• Exposure to utility projects, tendering, EPC projects or turnkey business is preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel frequently across East India and to work independently from a home office.

Required skills

• CRM, SAP, IFS, Microsoft 365 or similar business tools (an added advantage).
