Safety Engineer / Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Engineer / Safety Officer will lead the implementation of safety, health, and environmental standards across high‑rise, township and commercial construction projects. The role ensures that all site activities comply with statutory regulations and company policies while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement site safety plans, EHS policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, identify unsafe acts, conditions and hazards.
• Monitor compliance for high‑risk tasks such as working at height, scaffolding, excavation, lifting, hot work, electrical and confined‑space operations.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by workers, subcontractors and visitors.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, training programmes, mock drills and awareness sessions.
• Maintain safety documentation including permits, checklists, inspection reports, training records and incident registers.
• Inspect scaffolding, formwork, lifting tools, cranes, hoists, temporary electrical installations and other temporary works.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants and statutory authorities during audits and inspections.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly safety MIS reports to project leadership.

Required profile

• Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in construction safety management.
