Project Manager Transmission & Substation

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Program Management Consultancy services for large‑scale transmission, HVAC substation and HVDC terminal projects within the Khavda Hybrid Renewable Energy Program. The role provides overall leadership, governance and delivery oversight to ensure safe, timely and compliant execution.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary interface between client, consultants, EPC contractors and external stakeholders, establishing project governance and communication protocols.
• Lead mobilization and management of PMC resources across transmission line corridors, substations and HVDC facilities.
• Review contractor schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and develop recovery plans for delays.
• Provide technical oversight of engineering deliverables, design submissions and constructability reviews for EHV transmission, HVDC, and substation systems.
• Manage contract claims, variations, and commercial risk, ensuring proper documentation and payment certification.
• Oversee quality, HSE, and risk management processes, leading periodic review meetings and maintaining risk registers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience delivering EHV transmission line and substation projects, including at least one major 400 kV or 765 kV project.
• Proven experience in large‑scale utility, renewable energy or power transmission programmes.
• Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary project management and stakeholder coordination.
