Python Software Engineer – Application Maintenance & Agile Development

About the role

Synechron is looking for a Python Developer in Bengaluru who can develop, maintain and debug software solutions while working in Agile or Waterfall environments. The role involves writing clean, maintainable and scalable code, supporting software upgrades, taking part in code reviews and helping improve development processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions using Python and other relevant technologies, writing clean, maintainable, scalable and testable code.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Support upgrades, enhancements, modernization and maintenance of existing software.
• Take part in code reviews and help improve coding, testing, documentation and quality practices.
• Use source control to manage code changes and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies aligned with project and business needs.
• Document changes, technical decisions, troubleshooting steps and maintenance procedures.
• Deliver work according to agreed requirements, quality standards, priorities and timelines.

Required profile

• Practical experience developing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting software with Python.
• Knowledge of several programming languages such as Java, Python or C# depending on the project.
• Experience with Agile or Waterfall methods and with source control such as Git.
• Strong understanding of coding standards, modular design, testing, debugging, documentation, maintainability and scalability.
• Experience supporting software upgrades and resolving issues.

Preferred skills

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure, and with CI/CD, build, deployment and code-quality tools.
• Application monitoring, logging, performance analysis and issue-tracking tools.
• SQL, relational or non-relational databases, and scripting for deployment, testing or operations.
• Secure coding practices and familiarity with secure coding standards.
