Production Technician – Locomotive

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Production Technician for locomotive manufacturing. You will work on the shop floor, coordinating daily production plans, supervising Indian Railway staff, and ensuring high‑quality assembly of locomotives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily loading plans aligned with production targets.
• Participate in standing meetings to track weekly and monthly goals.
• Implement daily production activities, resolve challenges, and report metrics to the Production Manager.
• Ensure first‑time‑right quality control and mitigate quality issues without delaying production.
• Train and qualify Indian Railway staff on locomotive production processes.
• Supervise workflow, allocate job cards, and manage assembly flow at each station.
• Hand over completed locomotives to the testing team on schedule, maintaining quality and cost standards.
• Monitor equipment health, enforce EHS practices, and drive continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in manufacturing or production environments, preferably in rail or heavy‑industry.
• Ability to lead and coach a mixed workforce, including Indian Railway personnel.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and on‑time delivery.
