Private Finance Manager

About the role

The Private Finance Manager will oversee budgeting, payments, reporting and all financial processes related to privately used assets for a family‑office environment. You will work closely with finance stakeholders, contractors and senior leadership to ensure accurate, transparent and efficient financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage budgeting for personal expenses and privately used assets, monitoring income, expenses and performance.
• Execute and oversee payments via bank accounts, credit cards and digital wallets, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
• Maintain monthly accounting records in ERP and finance systems.
• Prepare budget‑vs‑actual reports, analyse deviations and provide insights to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with contractors on agreements, service payments and reconciliation of balances.
• Validate advance expense reports, allocate costs correctly and manage payment method limits.
• Support treasury operations during peak periods or team absences, including occasional travel.
• Improve financial processes, reporting structures, ERP workflows and expense‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Strong experience in private finance management, financial operations or similar roles with complex payment and reporting processes.
• Solid accounting knowledge, including expense classification, allocation, AP/AR and month‑end discipline.
• Ability to work independently, maintain high attention to detail and drive process improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation, reporting structures).
• In‑depth understanding of end‑to‑end banking operations, multi‑currency payments, transaction tracking, payment controls, fees and reconciliation.
• Experience with ERP or finance systems.
