Principal SQA Engineer

About the role

Aurora Networks, a business of Vistance Networks, is hiring a Principal-level Quality Assurance Engineer in Bangalore. The role works with a variety of technologies to design, develop and maintain quality assurance tools for Aurora's Service Assurance software products, in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design tests, decide what to automate and how, and build scalable automation test suites
• Work with product management on requirements, work breakdown, estimates and commitments
• Design and run test cases for ServAssure products and generate test reports
• Build API-based, functional and end-to-end automation for large-scale distributed systems
• Develop deployment and orchestration tools, deploy applications via automation and use configuration management tools
• Ensure quality through continuous integration and testing, and write scripts to automate configuration and performance monitoring
• Work hands-on in a lab, connecting hardware, setting up test environments and configuring networks
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience as a SQA Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Experience defining test plans, test cases, regression strategies and release readiness criteria
• Ability to mentor junior QA engineers and work closely with developers
• Willingness to combine deep automation work with hands-on lab activities

Required skills

• Shell scripts, Python, Perl, Java, REST API testing and TestNG
• Linux, network protocols (Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, gNMI), Ansible, Docker, SQL and NoSQL
• CI/CD pipelines, agile QA workflows, test management tools such as Zephyr and Jira
• Containerized application deployment with Docker and Kubernetes
• Preferred: Selenium WebDriver, BrowserStack, Playwright, cloud deployments on Azure or AWS, and exposure to telecom/cable domains
