Platforms-API Software Engineer (BA4)

About the role

Barclays is looking for an experienced Software Engineer for its API and Integration Platforms in Bengaluru. The role designs, develops, supports and improves enterprise API and integration solutions that enable key business capabilities, combining software engineering, API management, middleware development, platform reliability and operational support across cloud and on-premise environments. It includes L2/L3 production support and drives automation, SRE practices and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable, scalable, secure and resilient integration platforms, with L2/L3 production support and incident resolution.
• Develop, secure, publish and manage APIs using Apigee Edge (Google Cloud Platform).
• Build RESTful APIs, microservices and integration services using Core Java, Python and JavaScript.
• Implement messaging and event-driven integrations with TIBCO EMS and IBM MQ.
• Build and support containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Drive reliability through monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis and observability with Datadog.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates and support CI/CD pipelines, build automation and release management with Maven.
• Develop automated testing frameworks using Cucumber and BDD, and take part in on-call support and major incident management.

Required profile

• In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the listed technologies.
• Ability to collaborate with development, infrastructure, architecture and operations teams.
• Adherence to secure coding practices and unit testing; ability to escalate policy breaches and embed new controls.
