Plumbing MEP Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a technically strong and detail‑oriented Plumbing MEP Design Engineer to join our consultancy team. The role focuses on complete plumbing system design for residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional and industrial projects, without site‑only execution responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design water supply systems, including inlet/outlet layouts, demand calculations, pump head sizing, tank capacity sizing and distribution risers.
• Create drainage and sewerage layouts, perform fixture‑unit calculations, pipe slope planning, vent sizing and underground routing.
• Develop storm‑water and rain‑water networks, roof drainage, pipe sizing, surface drainage and rainwater harvesting designs.
• Engineer sump and overhead tanks, partition planning, pump room layouts, pump selection and control logic.
• Prepare plumbing BOQs, quantity take‑offs, material specifications, valve/pipe/fixture schedules and isometric drawings.
• Coordinate with electrical, HVAC, structural and architectural teams, participate in BIM meetings and support clash detection in Revit MEP.
• Ensure compliance with NBC Part 9, CPHEEO guidelines and relevant Indian standards (IS 2065, IS 13498) and assist with authority submissions.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• 3–8 years of experience in plumbing/PHE MEP design consultancy.
• Proven experience on residential, commercial, hospitality or institutional projects.
• Familiarity with Indian building codes and standards.

Required skills

• Water supply system design and hydraulic calculations.
• Drainage, sewerage and storm‑water design.
• Pump selection and tank sizing.
• BOQ preparation, quantity take‑off and cost estimation.
• Revit MEP for BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Isometric drawing creation and schedule preparation.
• Knowledge of NBC Part 9, CPHEEO guidelines, IS 2065 and IS 13498.
