Payments Specialist

About the role

ANZ is hiring a Payments Specialist in Mumbai for its Insto Operations Payments & Cash division within Group Operations. The role ensures a high level of transaction processing for cash deposits and withdrawals, including middle office payment and cash operations, in line with bank policy, procedures and local regulations. It is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Balance cash at the end of day and keep intraday and overnight cash within limits, and be responsible for cash loss
• Coordinate with the team member for transactions to be processed by the back office in Bangalore
• Ensure internal account reconciliation with a proper escalation matrix in place
• Produce accurate, complete and timely regulatory reporting for all regulators
• Ensure the agreed tariff is levied on products serviced by the unit
• Complete all transactions accurately and efficiently, and advise customers or refer them promptly to the Customer Service Officer/Manager
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transaction banking policies, practices, procedures and law, and keep work instructions current
• Build good working relationships with sales, implementation and client servicing teams

Required profile

• Ideally 5+ years of experience in payment operations such as cross-border payments, RTGS and NEFT
• Tertiary education in Banking & Financial Services
• Knowledge of institutional banking operations, instruments and processes
• Ability to manage conflicts and escalations productively
• Initiative, persistence and reasonable written and oral communication skills

Required skills

• Exposure to and understanding of ANZ risk and compliance management
• Strong knowledge of e-payment tools and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements
